Compare Reclaimed Wood with New Wood

Reclaimed Wood
The wood we provide is from barns, factories and other structures built from trees that were cut down 100 years ago or more. These structures were not built to last that long. They are deteriorating and they have to come down.

New Wood
A tree has to be grown and then cut down. In most cases this means deforesting the land. Responsible citizens need to ask whether someone is replacing the tree that was cut to provide their new wood.

Reclaimed Wood
This wood is from first or second growth forests, which were once in abundance.

New Wood
Today's fast-growth woods simply lack the quality and grain of old growth timber. No amount of staining, distressing or other work can equal slow growth and 100 or more years of natural aging.
